Stopped by 180th St. Marsh in Vermillion Twshp late on Thursday.

A Northern Harrier flushed hundreds of shorebirds, mainly yellowlegs. We were
able to ID 8 species of shorebirds (Killdeer, both Yellowlegs, Hudsonian Godwit
(1), Pectoral Sandpipers, Dunlin, Dowitcher (presumed Long-bill), and Wilsons
Phalarope. Smaller sandpipers were barely visible in the grass. The edges of
the road teamed with Marsh Wrens,50 to 100, perhaps more. Found Orange-crowned
Warbler, Nashville, and Common Yellowthroat. Someone else found a Yellow
Warbler. Saw two Bobolinks. Found at least 10 Soras, easily seen along side
of road. Ran out of light.

There was a constant background of Chorus Frogs with Northern Leopard Frogs
calling under. Red-wing Blackbirds were ubnoxious with Pied-billed Grebes
vocalizing intermitantly with their tropical rain-forest song. The Yellowlegs
were calling both from the shore and air, while Pectoral Sandpipers only called
when flushed. The Marsh Wrens, warblers, and Soras were silent.
