Hi All--

Last Friday Erika and I tried to bird along the Cannon River in Carleton
College's lower Arb.  We we quickly turned back by flood waters, but not
before seeing an exquisite Ebony Jewelwing (a damselfly).  We then walked
along the ponds below the main college campus.  We kicked up a male Orchard
Oriole, one of only about a half dozen I have seen in the county during the
last several years.  Both sightings (bird and dragonfly) are on my blog:
