I took a short walk in a small forested park nearby and ended up seeing most
of the birds I expected including an unexpected Belted Kingfisher.

But I also ended up hearing an extremely high-pitched bird that I didn't
recognize and could never find. The bird had a very high-pitched call (or
song) like a Cedar Waxwing or a Broad-winged Hawk. It was not a two-note
call like a Broad-winged Hawk and was not trilly like a Cedar Waxwing. This
bird's call was a single high-pitched whistling note that lasted about
0.3-0.5 seconds each call. I was a single note that trailed off at the end
and for a few minutes it was being repeated every 3-5 seconds. I never
found the bird and it was still making noise from the same, or nearly the
same location that it started from when I left after about five minutes.

If anybody has any ideas or possibilities it would be appreciated.

Thanks,
