For the third day in a row, I awoke to Evening Grosbeaks calling in my
box elder trees. I have a bumper crop of box elder seeds this year,
but this is the first time since the late 90s that I've had them
making such an extended visit. I've yet to see them in my feeders, but
it's cool enough hearing their sounds again.

For the love, understanding, and protection of birds

There is symbolic as well as actual beauty in the migration of birds.
There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of
nature--the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after
the winter.
