A WHITE-TAILED KITE was photographed on August 4th at the Bluestem Prairie SNA in Clay County, but I have no further details. Southbound migrants continue to trickle through the state. EVENING GROSBEAKS have been making a good showing in the northeastern counties while shorebirds and a few other species are being seen across the state. I have recent reports of GREATER YELLOWLEGS, SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, RUDDY TURNSTONE, SANDERLING, RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, CHIMNEY SWIFT, COMMON NIGHTHAWK, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, TENNESSEE WARBLER, NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, and CAPE MAY WARBLER.
