Birders: Like all of us I hate it when a bird collides with one of our windows
or any window anywhere. I have decals up on the most likely ones they strike
here. Imagine my surprise when a Nighthawk just struck our kitchen window.
Luckily it wasn't a "loud strike". I grabbed my gloves to see if I could help
the injured bird but happily it flew off in to the trees so hopefully its okay.
Our experience here is that most window strikes are warblers and thrushes.
Never thought a Nighthawk would hit our window.

Thanks, Robert Jessen, Austin, Mower County
