Good Morning! I went for a nature drive yesterday through the southern part of Carlos Avery. The birds where very active in clusters along the route.
Birds sited and/or photographed: Sandhill Cranes White-throated Sparrow Canadian Geese Blue Jay (at least a dozen all together - I've never seen so many at once.) Connecticut Warbler Eastern Phoebe Trumpeter Swan Black-Capped Chickadees Ducks (They were flying into the sun so I couldn't get an identification) Just this morning there were three Bluebirds in my front yard - hope they are heading south, but one looked quite young yet. Also a note of interest, I've noticed the King Fishers are extremely busy and abundant the last few weeks while kayaking on the Rum River in the Cambridge area and on Lake Fannie in Cambridge. I will be kayaking again this weekend and will see if they are still in the area.
