It seems that this is the right time to find both resident and migrant sparrows 
in west central Minnesota. I spent a fun day pre-birding for the 3 day sparrow 
workshop next weekend. 

All the "usual suspects" were around in good numbers, but the most interesting 
were LeConte's Sparrows. In one spot I had 12 LeConte's in sight at one time. 
Three of them were 12-15 feet from me. In the next 100' I found at least a 
dozen more!!!!!! Great fun.
