Around noon yesterday, I saw a flock of about 20 American Pipits at the Randolph Industrial Park, entrance at 284th St, from Hwy 56, just north of Randoph. They were flying in the strong south wind, and landing on the edge of the pond behind the church, and on the the cul-de-sac marsh, north of the stop sign. I had an excellent looks at several individuals which landed on the road.
There were also a few pipits along Scotia Trail, south of Randolph, east turn from Hwy 56, on the gravel road, and in the fields. Lake Byllesby is still very full, with few birds present when I checked it yesterday afternoon.
