In addition to all the recent excitement generated by the Tropical/ Couch's Kingbird, Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, and possible Scott's Oriole reports in Duluth and Grand Marais, there were a few other species of note found by the various birders who were along the North Shore of Lake Superior this past weekend:

- 1 Surf, 3 White-wingeds, and 1 Black scoter together - 29 Oct, Taconite Harbor; 7 White-wingeds here 30 Oct

- Thayer's Gull (adult) - 29 Oct, Knife River (Jim Lind & Paul Egeland)

- Am Three-toed Woodpecker (male) - 29 Oct, corner of 1st St & 4th Ave in Two Harbors

- Blue-headed Vireo - 30 Oct, Croftville Rd just E of Grand Marais (Barb & Denny Martin)

- Bay-breasted Warbler - 30 Oct, corner of E 2nd Ave & 3rd St

- Wilson's Warbler - 29 Oct, Iona's Beach SNA in Lake Co (Bob Dunlap et al)

Also seen at various locations during the weekend: Black-backed Woodpeckers (2), N Shrikes (2), Bohemian Waxwings (few), Harris's Sparrow, Pine Grosbeaks (few), White-winged Crossbills (several), and Com Redpolls (numerous flocks). -Kim Eckert
