Have you seen a bird because you first learned of where to look by reading about it on MOU-net? If so, I’m guessing that this listservice is something you value. It’s an important tool providing the opportunity to communicate with other birders and to learn about what birds are being seen in what locations.

MOU-net is provided for you by the Minnesota Ornithologists’ Union (MOU), as a service to Minnesotans who are interested in birds. The MOU also maintains a web site where you can view images of birds, and learn where and when particular species have been seen over the years. In addition, the MOU conducts birding field trips, teaches young people about birds, advocates for bird conservation, and supports research on birds, among many other activities.

Please do your part to support the organization providing the service that makes it easier for you to see the birds you want to see. Wednesday, November 16, is Give to the Max Day, a day on which thousands of Minnesotans will go online to donate to the Minnesota non-profits of their choice. Please visit www.givemn.org and enter MOU in the search box in the upper right hand corner of the screen. You’ll be able to make a donation that will help the MOU to continue serving the birds and birders of Minnesota.

Thank you in advance for doing your share to support the MOU and MOU-net.

Ann Kessen
MOU President
