Hi everyone,
While searching for some December waterfowl on Cannon Lake late this
afternoon, I was surprised to see a late Bonaparte's Gull amid the Herring and
Ring-billed Gulls. (It wasn't a kittiwake unfortunately!)
Most of the lake was still open but most rafts of ducks were very far out and
mostly unidentifiable.
I was able to pick out a single Common Loon and two Ruddy Ducks. There were
many goldeneyes and Common Mergansers around and some close Ring-necked Ducks.
Hopefully the water will stay open for a few more days of observing!

Good birding!
