If you are still looking for an opportunity to join a Christmas Bird Count this
Saturday (12/17), you can do so at the Lowry Nature Center in Carver Park. The
park is in the western section of the Excelsior CBC. Each year volunteers are
organized by the naturalist there to survey different sections of the park.
This provides an opportunity for some winter outdoor activity in one of the
nicest remaining natural areas in the Twin Cities region. And each year the
park seems to turn up some particularly interesting birds. The count starts at
the Lowry Nature Center at 8:30 AM on Saturday. You can participate for a half
or full day.

If you are interested in participating, you should contact Judy Voigt Englund,
the naturalist at Lowry, to let her know you are coming. Judy's email address
is:[email protected]
