The lack of Kestrel sightings is not unique to Stearns County. There have been
declines in Kestrel numbers across the continent and it is becoming a matter of
concern for many people. The Peregrine Fund has begun a program to erect nest
boxes and monitor their productivity with the hope that this will shed some
light on the issue. Audubon Minnesota and other partners will be piloting this
project in MN beginning this spring. Contact me (not through this listserve) if
you want more information.
