I found a couple of productive fields yesterday, March 11 for GWF and Cackling
Geese. No flooded fields, just fields full of something good to eat. There
were also good numbers (not surprisingly) of Trumpeter Swans on the wing and in
the fields.

I was surprised to find female RW Blackbirds as I scanned through one flock
with my scope. I also found scattered Rusty Blackbird females.

I tried for the Townsend's Solitaire with no success. If anyone refinds this
bird, I and maybe others would appreciate an update. I hung out in the area
for over an hour.

Other migrants: Common Grackles, Eastern Meadowlarks singing, and Eastern
Bluebirds.

Amazing to go one day with just one heard RW Blackbird to the next with males
every few yards singing away. I love migration!!
