The last three mornings at the dam have been filled with waterfowl at the Coon
Rapids Dam. I've seen many ring necked ducks, a single hooded
merganser, several common mergansers and common goldeneye, at least two
canvasbacks and half a dozen redheads. Today I saw my first loon of the season
and an american wigeon. Also at least a dozen coots and half a dozen wood
ducks. A friend said he saw a greater scaup but i have yet to see one there.
I also saw what I think was an otter sliding into the water. Also each day
I've seen at least a dozen bufflehead.
