There are two pairs of purple finches visiting the feeder at HQ this afternoon. Haven't seen this species since much earlier in the winter. There was an eastern towhee calling from across the St. Francis River at the HQ this morning. Same spot I heard one calling from last spring. Betsy Beneke Sherburne NWR
