I found a Northern Saw-whet Owl today in the woods by our home along the St. Croix River. If you look at the photo, there is an unidentified food item on the tree branch in front of the bird.
We had a saw-whet owl for the Christmas Bird Count, about 2-3 miles from the bird today. Not sure if this is the same bird or if there are several along the river.
