Yesterday afternoon there were 5 Black-crowned Night Herons roosting along
Minnehaha Creek, just next to the bridge over Nokomis Ave. Four of them
were dozing in the sun, while the fifth was preening and checking out the
passers-by.

Under the 28th Ave. bridge, a very small and dark flycatcher was evidently
building a nest. The bird made repeated trips between the stream-bank and a
support under the bridge, apparently to gather mud.
