I checked north shore of Lake Calhoun at 7pm last night, and again 7 am this
morning. No eared grebe that I could identify. This morning, first year
common loon within twenty yards of shore, a fishing bald eagle being mobbed by
crows, about 25 pied billed grebes, five horned grebes and eight red breasted
mergansers, plus many coots. Did not have time to circle the entire lake.
