A Peregrine flew over Sherburne Refuge's Auto Tour yesterday.

This was personal bird #231 in the refuge since moving here in December of 2003.

I was struck that a central MN refuge - with limited human access much of the
year - could provide such numbers for a person who walks there 2-5 hours per
week, generally before work.

I was also struck that oak savanna, with limited woods, without a sizable lake,
could produce such diversity.

Kudos to the employees, and the vision!
