I want to modify my post from yesterday. A combination of lack of experience and poor lighting led me too overestimate the number of birds I saw. I tried using mainly bill shape to determine what I was seeing. at most there were a half dozen still sandpipers on the mudflats and the remainder were pectorals. The learning process is fun but humbling....
