This evening just after dusk, as I took the dog out for last call. I heard a bizarre display sound coming from overhead. It would circle unseen and was rather outer-worldly. Best I can describe is a repated soft woo woo woo sound. (apologies) I could not see the originator and it would be in a series noises. The sounds seemed wing generated and went on for some time. It was not woodcock courtship sound. Does anyone have an answer or a guess? I forgot, I am located between two wetlands and a small lake in Cass County.
