Muscovy Duck is common and established in S Florida (and probably in other southern states as well). The Florida bird checklist committee (or whatever the correct name is) won't add Muscovy Duck to the state checklist --it is pretty much a pest and most of the birds are hybrids with domestic ducks--so the ABA has added it only based on "countable" birds from the Rio Grande valley that are considered to be part of a wild population from Mexico. I am not sure if this is an escaped game bird or if it is way off course. It was spotted last week in Central Park in Roseville, just east of Victoria, north of the ball fields.
