Woke up a little before 4:00AM this morning to what I thought was a car alarm.
Upon closer listening, I realized it was a bird. I sleepily recorded the call
on my camera, and when I reviewed it this morning it was an Eastern
Whip-poor-will. I live near University and Prior in St. Paul. LOTS of flat
gravel roofs, so we usually have resident Night hawks(none yet this year), but
I've never heard a Whip-poor-will in the city before.
The joys of urban birding!
