5/10/12 While leading a Minnesota River Valley Audubon Chapter field trip in 
Fillmore county today and yesterday, we observed a good number of migrants.  
Here are a few of the species we have observed: Hooded Merganser - Female with 
8 youngCommon Loon - Kappers' ponds, 1.5 miles South of Cherry Grove.  The bird 
was in the Eastern pond.Great Egret - Goethite WMASandhill Crane - A pair of 
Sandhill Cranes were observed at Goethite WMA.Vireo's - Yellow-throated, 
Blue-headed, Warbling, Philadelphia and Red-eyed.Swainson's ThrushWood 
ThrushWarblers - 20 species, including Northern Waterthrush, Golden-winged, 
Blue-winged, Cape May, Northern Parula, Magnolia, Bay-breasted, Blackpoll and 
Black-throated Green.Most of the Warblers and Vireo's were observed along CR 
12, Killdeer Road, Lonesome road and in Forestville State park, from 6:00 am
