5/12/12 On a brief stop at the 180th street marsh in Dakota county today.
There were some Sora's singing and a number of Yellow-headed Blackbirds. Of
interest was a flooded field, just to the East of the marsh that had some nice
shorebirds. This field is just East of Goodwin Ave and on the North side of
180th Street. The birds were observed at around 9:00 am. There also appeared
to be other flooded fields in the area, but I did not have time to check those.
The following shorebirds were observed there:Semipalmated PloverGreater
YellowlegsLesser YellowlegsSemipalmated SandpiperLeast SandpiperPectoral
SandpiperDunlinShort-billed Dowitcher Loggerhead Shrike - Two were observed at
the corner of 180th Street and Emery Avenue. Craig MandelMinnetonka, Hennepin
