Hello all,
I visited the Lewiston Sewage Ponds (take Cty rd 29 south, and as you
leave town, it's the first gravel road on the right, with a dead end sign).
I was there last evening and early this morning and saw the following:
Last evening: 2 Wilson's Phalarope
This morning:
American Golden Plover (20)
Black Bellied Plover (2)
Semipalmated Plover (15)
Killdeer (5)
Greater Yellowlegs (10)
Lesser Yellowlegs (40)
Solitary Sandpiper (1)
Semipalmated Sandpiper (2)
Least Sandpiper (many)
Spotted Sandpiper (3)
Pectoral Sandpiper (20)
Dunlin (10)
Sanderling (15)
American Pipit (1)
There may have been a white-rumped sandpiper, and Bairds as well,
but I am still not adept at identifying them. By later morning the
American Golden and Black Bellied Plovers had left.
