Today I was surprised by a calling Yellow-headed Blackbird coming from the north end of the Garrison Wayside Rest Area (the big Walleye). I walked over and after a bit of searching the bird flew down to the sandy beach and began feeding on insects with a group of Grackles - it looked so out of place on a sandy beach with nary a cattail to be seen.
