We were happy to see a single upland sandpiper two miles south of State Highway 23 along the county road 5 in this county Sunday afternoon (June 24) about 1:00. It was sitting on top of a bale of hay in a field. This was our first sighting of this bird for the year. Very nice. For a hot and humid afternoon we saw quite a few species in this county.
