A pair of house finches built a nest on our deck in our hanging plant. Before
I
knew there were eggs in the nest, I may have watered the plant on the newly
laid eggs. Also, we may have interrupted the incubation due to using the
deck on a regular basis and scaring off the female. At least three eggs have
been in the nest over a month. I understand that the incubation period is
approximately 12-14 days. What should I do with the eggs or nest now that I
believe these eggs won't hatch? Remove the eggs? Remove the eggs and
nest? We have another flowerbed with straw-like material on the deck that I
think the was used to built the nest. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
