As far as my personal Harrier sitings, I've only ever seen a Harrier once in Hennepin County last fall, but I had two sitings of Harriers this spring at Rapids Lake in Carver County and in Pine County. Also saw a bunch this spring when we went to Crex Meadows just over the border in Wisconsin for the day.
I took a look at eBird and it seems like Harriers across the whole state are being seen at a greater frequency, on average, when compared with 2009-2011. 2012: http://ebird.org/ebird/GuideMe?cmd=decisionPage&speciesCodes=norhar&getLocations=states&states=US-MN&bYear=2012&eYear=2012&bMonth=1&eMonth=12&reportType=species&parentState=US-MN 2009-2011: http://ebird.org/ebird/GuideMe?src=changeDate&speciesCodes=norhar&getLocations=states&states=US-MN&parentState=US-MN&reportType=species&monthRadio=on&bMonth=01&eMonth=12&bYear=2009&eYear=2011&continue.x=31&continue.y=6 Ben Harste Bloomington, MN On Tue, Jul 3, 2012 at 9:06 AM, Al Schirmacher <[email protected]>wrote: > Has anyone else noted a dearth of harriers this year?
