Walked Blue Hill Trail, Sherburne Refuge, moments ago. Birding highlight was a Red-headed Woodpecker on the east side, open/dead trees area. There are at least two present, including one striking juvenile.
Otherwise normal singing bird fare, with reduced sparrow & warbler song. Southern butterfly visitor, Little Sulphur, near beginning of trail. Saw at 8:45 & 10:25. Most surprising was the return (?) of the fisher (well out of range). One was photographed this winter at the refuge HQ, and its lookalike walked through the northern edge of the conifer section this morning. Weasel on steroids! As usual this time of year, bring repellant, netting & patience. Good birding, and other, to all!
