7/15/12 Minnesota Valley National Wildlife RefugeLong Meadow Lake UnitOld Cedar 
Ave. Bridge Trailhead Had a nice walk at Long Meadow Lake this morning.  We 
checked for the previously reported Yellow-crowned Night-Heron, but were 
unsuccessful in relocating it.  But there were lots of Great Blue Herons and 
Great Egrets.  Here are a few of the species observed on the trail from the 
parking lot to the board walk and back. Great Blue HeronGreat EgretPeregrine 
Falcon - Observed sitting on the railing, by its nesting platform.  This is on 
the power plants large smoke stack.Virginia RailSoraPileated WoodpeckerGreat
