I had trouble finding the spot so I will try to describe the location better.
I turned off Wirth Parkway toward Eloise Butler and parked at the Eloise Butler
entrance, walked back down the hill toward the swimming beach and turned right
on the first trail toward the swimming beach.  I believe it might be better to
park at the swimming beach and walk up the trail to the right of the pond/
wetland.  The spot is half-way between the swimming beach and the road to
Eloise Butler, where water is leaking across the path.

I got a late start today, but at 4pm I found the western kingbird at Westwood
Nature Center.  I then proceeded to Eloise Butler to look for the crossbills.
I had a little trouble finding the spot but finally did.  After waiting an
hour, at 6pm the noisy red crossbills twice flew low over the spot reported but
did not land while I was there.  At least 25 including males.  Also at this
site olive-sided flycatchers, gnatcatchers, female grosbeak.
