I was Up North a bit on the White Fish Chain of Lakes. And from a long distance I saw a huge number of fish and bird in the distance all clustered together. I thought they might be terns by the way there were flying but there was dark in the water and the terns were flying very close by. As we neared I was an amazing sight. There were more than 40 Loons and the same amound of gulls. I could not tell what kind of gulls they were though. The water was choppy and I just plain could tell. But I was amazed at the amount of Loons. My friend, Tom, said they were getting ready to take off and that the gulls hang around for the remnants that the Loons do not eat. It was so cool.
There were immature Loons all over the lake too, just hanging, many taking baths. Eagles galore. ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
