Hi Dan: Would you please post the following on the Minnesota listserve. Thanks...Vic This message is directed to the birding listserve on states neighboring South Dakota to inform them of the fall meeting of the South Dakota Ornithologists Union and invite them to attend. Arrangements for the fall meeting of SDOU October 5-7 in Pierre, SD are complete. The registration form and meeting details are now available at www.sdou.org . A complete listing of events along with accommodations and phone numbers are included on the registration form. All events will meet at the Governor's Inn (605-224-4200) located at 700 W. Sioux Avenue in Pierre. Registration fee is $15 and cost of the banquet is $11.50. The fall meeting will include paper sessions Saturday, birding field trips Saturday and Sunday, a Friday night program during registration, a Saturday night program and banquet, general membership, board of directors, and rare bird committee meetings. Paper sessions are being organized by Dr. Dave Swanson, and the Northern Hills Bird Club (NHBC) of Sturgis, SD is handling other arrangements. Pierre was chosen because of it's central location. The meeting is open to everyone and it is not necessary to be a member of SDOU to attend. This will be a good opportunity to meet other birders, participate in some great birding trips, and attend paper sessions tailored for birders. Make plans now to attend the fall meeting October 5-7 in Pierre. Print the registration form from www.sdou.org, complete, and mail as outlined.
