The last couple of afternoons on my way home, I've traveled CRs 70, 11, and 7th
St. that travel north and west out of Sherburne Refuge and along the Sherburne
and Mille Lacs county lines.  There have been significant numbers of eastern
bluebirds and sparrows migrating, and this route has been wonderful for seeing
a variety of species.

Yesterday's high count of bluebirds along these roads was nearly 50 (in about
10 miles), and sparrows found included chipping, vesper, savannah, song,
Lincoln's, white-throated, white-crowned and dark-eyed junco.  Yellow-rumped
and palm warblers, ruby-crowned kinglet and red-breasted nuthatch were also
along the route.
