We took a drive along Vadnais Blvd on the south side of the lake this
morning and found a few new arrivals. We counted 7 trumpeter swans and
several small flocks of ring-necks. On the smaller lake to the west, there
was a single cormorant drying his wings from atop a muskrat house, numerous
coots, and a small flock of about 10 hooded mergansers. The road through
the lakes remains closed and there was a lot of road equipment parked at the
point.
