As much fun as it is to have your bird flying around the room, it means
double the precaution to insure no escape to the outside. I think in
cold weather, the cage is the safe place.

Haven't seen the bird for a day or two. Owner might have chased it
down. Or it might have died from exposure. No way to know for sure.
