This morning, in response to a couple of inquiries, I looked for but was unable
to relocate the Brant found by Shawn Zierman at Park Point on Tuesday. (I also
heard second-hand that at least a couple of other birders could not find it
yesterday or Tuesday afternoon.) However, it is entirely possible the bird is
still in the area since there are several scattered groups of Canada Geese in
the Duluth-Superior harbor area that it could be associating with, these geese
move around quite a bit, and some of these probably spend time in inaccessible
areas and may not be visible. I assume that if someone sees the Brant again,
this would be posted on mou-net. At Bayfront Park, despite all the Bentleyville
Christmas lights hoopla, those 2 imm Greater White-fronted Geese, the imm
Ross's/hybrid Goose, and 1 or 2 Cackling Geese were still present this morning.
