Wild River SP was still hosting a lovely Fox Sparrow at its Trail Center
feeders yesterday, in addition to the expected winter residents. A hike on
the outskirt trails to the southern end of the park was otherwise quiet,
except for the noisy pair or trio of Raven doing their guttural croak-caws,
and later, a Crow doing rattle calls. There were 5 Trumpeter Swans on the
river, and at least 3 Bald Eagles, near Deer Creek.
On the way home, one hardy Kingfisher was still present, hovering over the
edge of a lake west of Lindstrom, next to hwy 8.
