Yesterday morning I had a small group of White-winged Crossbills fly over my backyard, just as I was leaving for work. This morning while walking to my car, I heard one Snow Bunting fly overhead, and had 15 Evening Grosbeaks fly overhead too!
During my brief lunch break today, I went to Canal Park and through binoculars picked out a juvenile Thayer's Gull on the opposite side of the entry-way. I work less than 2 blocks away from the gullwatching spot at Canal Park, and I'm hoping to make regular visits to do some gullwatching in the winter times to come.
