Sax-Zim Bog CBC was above average with 31 species tallied on Friday Dec 21st.
Highlights included...
3 Great Gray Owls (2 along west side of McDavitt and one on Admiral)
1 N Hawk Owl (on CR7 just N of Sax Rd)
1 Sharp-shinned Hawk (Helen and Dave Abrahmson's feeder on Little Whiteface Rd)
1 Hoary Redpoll (Helen and Dave Abrahmson's feeder on Little Whiteface Rd)
3 Sharp-tailed Grouse (intersection of CR7 and Sax Rd)
8 Evening Grosbeaks (4 at Owl Ave feeders, 4 at Blue Spruce Morse's feeders)
Other rarely seen on this count (Junco, Red Crossbills, waxwings)
Notable misses (Pileated Woodpecker, Rock Pigeon, Black-backed Woodpecker)
