The bird was seen again this morning; that's three days in a row now (in
addition to the December 13th appearance). I've had a few responses to my
message, and I just wanted to let you know that we will "keep an eye on it." We
will be out of town over the next few weeks. House sitters will be here most of
the time. Not big birders, but they can tell a catbird from a handsaw. I will
have my BirdCam set up, too.

According to Janssen (3rd ed, 1992) only two individuals have been known to
overwinter in the state (last one in 1975). The online MOU occurrence map seems
to indicate a third in Lake County in 2006-2007. So we know the odds are long.

I won't post about this more than once a week now.
