A small group of 5-6 White-winged Crossbills were found today (finally!) in the
Oakland Cemetery
in Hutchinson, MN.
They were in the same spruce tree in the middle of the cemetery where they were
found 2 (or was it 3?)
years ago. There were probably a couple dozen Pine Siskins also in the area.

The Carolina Wren first reported by Roger and Tammy Field on 12/26 at their
rural place just north of Hutch
also was refound this morning (Jan. 3). It seems quite content there, with good
shelter and food supply and
probably 30-40 or more Redpoll companions.

Pete Hoeger, Hutch
