I was informed by the same person in a private message on Facebook and I
thought I share some more insights about the event that took place yesterday.
The person drove past his house and drove all the way down to the Hakalla Road
which is nearly a half mile away from this man's homestead to let out his dog
to run.  The Hakalla Rd is not even in eye shot from the homestead and still
this man target the driver and followed him.  When the man confronted the
person with the dog he went on a full rant about if you do not own land up here
you do not belong up here and etc..  when the person spoke up and defended
himself the man wanted a physical altercation so luckily the person ignored him
and was able to drive by the man.  The man followed him for a short ways as
described by Sparky but luckily the man never touched the person involve in
this act because the birder/photographer had a hand gun with him in his truck
and would of used it against this
crazed individual in self defense. The man was lucky but the birder did indeed
called the sheriff and the sheriff knows this person pretty good and will
follow up on this event.

So you are not even safe by even driving by this person house and for now on I
am carrying a bat in my car when I am alone because he is a real threat.  your
a threat to him if you slow down by his house in your car, you are threat if
you drive casually as a normal driver by his house, you are a threat if you
park out of sight from his home and he sees you within a half mile from his
home!  The man is dangerous period!  Unfortunately until some birder gets
killed by this man or is lying on the ground badly injured by this man then the
sheriff will lock up this guy.  So sad to keep hearing this stuff going on in
the bog.

Subject: [mou-net] Beware Stickney Rd "combat marine" in Sax-Zim Bog...Recent
incident

Hi all Sax-Zim birders,

First of all, I do not want this to turn into an online bashing/tirade against
this individual...I just want you all to be aware of this when you bird Sax-Zim
so we can all stay safe.

THE SHERIFF WAS CALLED AND THE INCIDENT REPORTED.

Yesterday, a birder was confronted and harassed by the man that lives at the N
end of Stickney Road just south of Sax Road.

He pursued the birder in his car and half blocked the road so the photographer
could not easily get past him...then yelled at him, "foaming at the mouth" was
the term used by the birder.

He accused the birder of "slowing down" in front of his house, and "what are
you doing here!...You have no right to be here" etc...and on and on.

The photographer had to drive half down in the ditch to get around him, the man
followed him for a ways.

As most of you know, this is not the first time birders have had ugly
encounters with this individual.

He is the one with the garage spraypainted with the words..."Trespassers You
will be Violated...Danger... Combat Marine"

Please use caution in this area of the Bog...Preferably staying off this
stretch of Stickney...Or at least keep your speed up when you drive by!

DO NOT STOP OR SLOW DOWN on the N. end of Stickney just south of Sax Rd.

YES, YOU CAN LEGALLY BIRD THIS ROAD BUT IT IS NOT WORTH THE POSSIBLE
CONSEQUENCES TO YOU OR OTHER BIRDERS WHO VISIT THIS AREA.

Thanks!
