Today I was out guiding John Cobb from Colorado and saw a lot of great birds!
Highlights: Sax-Zim Bog - Great Gray Owl in the north logging area off McDavitt Rd. - Boreal Chickadee - Admiral Rd Feeders - Hoary Redpolls - 2 males at the Admiral Rd Feeders and 2 males at the Blue Spruce Rd Feeders. - White-winged Crossbill - Evening Grosbeaks & Pine Grosbeaks at Blue Spruce Rd Feeders. - Gray Jay - Northern Shrike Two Harbors: - Boreal Owl seen in the alley below 4th Ave and 2nd St. Wisconsin ( Poplar and Superior ) - Northern Hawk Owl in Poplar, Wisconsin - (2) Snowy Owls. One unbanded female type at the Calumet Gas Refinery and a young male type along Tower Avenue next to the Airport entrance. - Snow Buntings along CR P Duluth Canal Park: - Thayer's Gulls - Glaucous Gull Northshore at Dusk: - Barred Owl A great day of birding!
