As I looked out my Lodge window this morning I was very surprised to see a small owl roosting on a tree limb. I believe it to be a Northern Saw-whet. The owl roosted from 8:10 am until 2:40 pm changing once to another tree giving us an even better view. Lucky day. It roosted very close to one of our bird feeding station areas.
I am linking to one of the photos taken today on our Facebook page. I would appreciate it if you experts out there could confirm for me that it is a Northern Saw-whet. I don't think it is a boreal. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rainbow-Resort/229742137049029? ref=hl#!/photo.php? fbid=521975751158998&set=a.229788603711049.55522.229742137049029&type= 1&theater Linda Schumann Rainbow Resort Waubun, MN 56589 Becker County www.rainbowresort.com [email protected] ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
