I guess all of us good birders up here in Duluth should not post any more
Boreal Owl or Great Gray Owl locations because we do not want mobs of birders
and bird photographers observing these owls. ERRRR OOOPS we have been sharing
these owl locations on the listserv and we had mobs of people viewing these
owls with very little issues of all these people viewing these owls that were
posted on the MOU listserv. Maybe we should of just said "St Louis County" to
all these owl sightings? St. Louis Co is larger than some states and that
should keep the wanting birders guessing on where these owls are being seen BUT
we did not! We gave mileage, roads, type of tree the owl was perched on and
what side of the road to look. I am speaking for all the local guides and
birders who have been reporting owls and other bird sightings and giving detail
directions on where to find them. This act by us made a lot of birders happy
who saw their lifer Boreal Owl and other
birds & owl species. Apparently some just do not get it! Also announcing you
are responsible for the death of a Screech Owl by luring it in with calls and
having that same owl get killed by a Great horned Owl is a little shocking and
odd on why that was even mentioned? Weird!

Sent from Yahoo! Mail
